6th Annual Veterans Fundraiser

About this event
Six years in and the cause still changes every year. The Veterans and Patriots Association runs this one around the Treasure Valley without committing to a beneficiary in advance — an earlier edition was promoted quite openly in support of a charity yet to be announced, which is either admirably honest or a leap of faith depending on your temperament. Recent years have run out of the High Desert Harley-Davidson lot on Cinema Drive, nine until three: a ride first, then vendors, a fifty-fifty raffle, high and low hand and silent auction tables for the rest of the afternoon. It is worth not confusing this with Idaho Patriot Thunder, the much larger veterans ride that also sets off from Meridian. Who founded this one, and in what year, is not published, and neither is the entry price. What is clear is the shape of the day: a short ride out and a long afternoon of standing around a dealership forecourt spending money on a good cause.
