12th Annual Veteran Suicide Awareness Ride and Event

Saturday, April 17, 2027 · 8 AM · Nampa, Idaho

About this event

This one is called a ride, and there is a ride, but the ride is not really the event. Ride for 22 takes over the Idaho Center at Nampa, an arena with the parking to match, and builds the day around what happens once the engines are off: stalls, services, veterans' organisations, and families who have lost someone finding each other in the same room.

The charity runs it with the Disabled American Veterans of Idaho. Its stated aims are plain enough: spread awareness of post-traumatic stress, stand as a living memorial, and support the people left behind. The name comes from the figure that has followed veteran suicide for years, and the organisers' own line on it is that one is too many.

No founder is named and no origin story is published, which for a cause like this is not surprising.

They also cover registration for veterans who cannot meet it, and say so openly rather than making anyone ask twice.

The riding itself is easy Treasure Valley: flat, warm, nothing technical. The day is the reason to come.

Is this your event? If anything here is wrong — the date, the town, the details — or you would like to add to it, tell us and we will fix it.
