Miss Bentley’s 15th Annual Pin-Up Contest

Saturday, June 19, 2027 · 6 PM · Arundel, Maine

About this event

This is a pin-up contest, not a bike show, and it is worth saying so before anyone rides to Arundel expecting bikes. Bentley's Saloon has run it for fifteen years, timed to Laconia Motorcycle Week and carried on the official Laconia calendar, but the competition itself is a retro pageant: forties through sixties styling, attire of the contestant's choice, nudity not permitted, and judging that the saloon's own entry form admits is based solely on the personal preferences of whoever is judging. There is no entry fee. The grand prize is a thousand dollars in cash, prizes, and the winner's photograph printed on a Bentley's T-shirt. Motorcycles enter at that last point and nowhere else — the photographer on site, Sam Nappi, poses the contestants on a bike, and it is that image which ends up on the merchandise. What to expect, then, is an afternoon at a biker saloon and campground on Route 1 during the busiest motorcycling week in New England, with a pageant happening in the middle of it: a stop on a Laconia itinerary rather than a destination.
