A bake sale and a man in a red suit is the smallest-sounding item on any dealership calendar, which rather undersells the people putting the trestle tables out. All American HOG, chapter 3887, was chartered in July 2002 and held its first meeting that August in the Moose lodge at Mechanicsville: a hundred and seventy-five people turned up, and three hundred and forty-eight had signed as charter members by the end of September. In 2022 the same chapter logged 639,077 miles between them and finished first in the Mid-Atlantic. The store they meet in is forty-four thousand square feet on Old Leonardtown Road in Hughesville, now part of Geoff Wanamaker's Bayside group; Wanamaker bought it from Don Smolimski and had been a customer there long before he was the owner. December is a showroom morning rather than a ride — photographs with Santa from eleven, and the chapter's cakes on a table beside them. If you have been meaning to look the chapter over without committing to a cold run first, this is the day to walk in: most of their rides are closed to members and one guest.
