The Georgia chapter of the MSTA describes itself as a biker gang like no other — instead of vests and choppers, armoured jackets and corner speed. That is the whole event in a sentence, and it is why this weekend costs nothing to attend.
There is no entry fee and no programme. What the chapter does is publish route files two weeks out, Garmin and otherwise, leaning toward gravel with paved alternatives linked, and put up a board where riders pair off into whatever rides they fancy. You pay the lodge and nothing else.
That lodge is the draw. Two Wheels of Suches takes motorcycles and nothing else — cabins, camping, a bathhouse, a covered porch and a restaurant that runs March to November. Frank and Jeannie Cheek built it as Two Wheels Only, it closed in 2010, and Bill Johnston reopened it.
It sits where State Route 60 meets Wolf Pen Gap and US 129, which is to say at the centre of the Georgia Triangle, more tight curves and steep grades per mile than any other paved road in the state.
