Mark Bradshaw, who owns the Hideaway Bar and Grill, started this in 2013 and has never attached a cause to it. There is no beneficiary, no fundraising total, no ribbon. It is a bar owner putting on three days of rally for the people who already drink there, and it is free to attend.
It runs across two buildings a quarter of a mile apart on Cave Creek Road — the original Hideaway Grill and the newer Roadhouse — with live music, vendors, old-school biker games and the AZ Guilders Bash, which brings national and international custom builders to show new work. The thing worth walking the quarter mile for is inside the Roadhouse: a museum of rare vintage motorcycles, permanently there rather than trucked in for the weekend.
Cave Creek sits in the high Sonoran desert north of Phoenix and is the usual staging point for runs up to Bartlett Lake and Seven Springs, so the riding is on the doorstep and organised rides go out during the bash. It suits cruiser and custom riders who want a bar-based rally with desert day rides attached, not a race crowd and not a campground.
