Amigos Freedom Gathering
Saturday, September 12, 2026 · 9 AM · Overgaard, Arizona
About this event
A one-day poker run in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona, run by Amigos Brotherhood Charities out of a park at Heber-Overgaard. The charity supports veterans, children and people in need across that part of the state, and the gathering is its public fundraiser. The day runs from mid-morning into the evening: the run itself, then live music, raffles, auctions and the sort of small-town afternoon that fills a park. It is free to attend, which is unusual and deliberate — the money comes from the raffle and the auction rather than the gate. Overgaard sits at around six and a half thousand feet on the Mogollon Rim, in ponderosa pine rather than desert, which makes early autumn close to perfect riding weather. Highway 260 across the Rim and the run down to Young on the 288 are among the best roads in Arizona and both start within an hour of the park.
