8th Annual SGT John Barcellano Memorial Poker Run
Saturday, September 11, 2027 · Trabuco Canyon, California
About this event
Sergeant John Barcellano survived two deployments and was killed on a motorcycle at home. His mother organises the motorcycle run that carries his name.
He was a soldier out of Fort Bliss, deployed first to North Africa and Djibouti and then to Kuwait, and he died in the early hours of a July morning in 2017, aged twenty-six. He had enlisted out of Menifee at twenty-two, after a spell studying sound engineering. Lisa Moncur also set up memorial scholarships at his old high school, which later dedicated a flagpole to him. What the run raises goes to veterans, serving personnel and Gold Star families.
