Toy Run for Manna House
Saturday, November 21, 2026 · 10 AM · His Church, 32011 Meadow Ridge Ln · Coarsegold, California
About this event
Manna House was never one person's idea, which is unusual among small-town food banks. Its legal name gives that away — Shared Ministries of East Madera County — because it began as something a group of churches did together rather than something a founder started. By 1989 it was still, in the words of the incoming director's own daughter, fledgling. Troy West took it on that year and ran it for twenty-two, bringing in more churches and more volunteers as he went.
The ride that stocks it belongs to the Central Sierra chapter of Bikers For Christ, who have it on their own calendar for ten o'clock on 21 November and charge nothing to join: one unwrapped toy is the entire price of admission. Earlier editions mustered at Robert's Frosty in Coarsegold over coffee and doughnuts before running the toys down the hill.
That hill is Highway 41, the road to Yosemite's south gate, and the drop into Oakhurst is about ten miles of Sierra foothill. Short, easy, any sort of bike, and at the bottom of it a food bank that gives out Thanksgiving dinners and children's toys for nothing.
