The bikes line up at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, a municipal amphitheatre park with open lawns rather than a tarmac apron, at eleven, and kickstands go up at one for the ride into Greenville and the dealership on Chrome Drive. It is organised by Greenville Chapter 4800 of the Harley Owners Group, which has run it for over two decades and publishes nothing at all about how it began; the chapter's head road captain has coordinated recent editions. The toys go to the Greenville County Foster Parent Association, so they stay with children in foster care in the county the riders live in, and one new unwrapped toy is the entry. It goes ahead rain or shine, and chapters from out of state ride down for it: the Independence chapter from Matthews, North Carolina, makes the trip and warns its own members off the Highway 74 leg.
