The Shenandoah 500 - Dual Sport & ADV Ride
October 3–4, 2026 · Natural Chimneys Park and Campground, 94 Natural Chimneys Lane · Mount Solon, Virginia
About this event
A two-day ride rather than a rally: roughly 500 kilometres, about 310 miles, laid out from Natural Chimneys Campground at Mount Solon and run by the Washington Area Trail Riders. There are two courses. The dual sport route mixes dirt, gravel, tarmac and single track; the ADV route drops the single track and sticks to gravel, forest roads and pavement, which is what you want if you are on something heavy. Every bike has to be street legal, registered and fitted with a spark arrestor — the route uses National Forest roads and the requirement is enforced. This one has run for over twenty-five years, so the route knowledge behind it is considerable.
