Most bikers' bars are ordinary bars that bikers took over. Grumpy's Biker Emporium was built to be one.
It opened on the last Saturday of May 2024 with a car show, a bike show and a rat rod show all running at once and bands through the day, and it has kept live music going across the riding season since. It sits on US-45 at Brookport, a couple of minutes north of the Ohio River and the bridge over to Paducah — flat river-bottom two-lane, with the Shawnee National Forest roads starting a short way north, which is the real reason to be down in this corner of the state.
The toy run itself is barely documented. Who organises it, who receives the toys, what it costs and whether there is a route are not published anywhere the organisers control, and no edition number is given. The name points somewhere specific — the seven counties at the southern tip of Illinois — but nobody has put that in writing against this event, so read it as a name rather than a fact.
An October date is early for a toy run, and nothing published explains why.
