Red River Scramble: The Bluegrass Adventure Rally 2026

About this event
Every rally you have ever paid for sold you a schedule. This one sells you nothing at all — no entry fee, no group ride, no band, no start time. A rider who writes as MotoADVR set it up in 2017 because he thought eastern Kentucky deserved people who would appreciate it, and his idea of hosting is to hand you routes and then leave you alone.
What you get is a set of GPX files graded by difficulty, loadable into REVER or Gaia, with the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway running through the middle of them. Some of it is graded forest road that anyone can manage. Some of it is genuinely hard. None of it is compulsory — there is twisty pavement the whole way through for riders who would rather stay on it.
Basecamp is Lago Linda Hideaway: cabins, hookups, powered tent sites, a café open through the weekend, and not many of any of them, so book early.
It starts, unofficially, with lunch at Miguel's Pizza on the Thursday — the climbers' place at the mouth of the Gorge. After that you are on your own. Sandstone cliffs, blind curves, deer. Ride your own ride.
