Libby's Motoworld Annual Toy Run

About this event
Libby's does not advertise this ride, which is in character for the place. The shop has been in New Haven since 1957 as Libby's Sales and Service, took on Yamaha in 1964, added Honda in 1992 and was on the floor for Triumph's return to the United States in 1994: four franchises across four eras of the trade, with the family name still on the service desk, where Keith Libby runs a department that advertises more than seventy-five years of combined experience among its technicians. Who founded it in 1957, and how it passed between generations, the family has never put in writing. The toy run is handled the same way. It falls on the Saturday after Thanksgiving at 60 Printers Lane, in the industrial pocket near the harbour, and the shop publishes no start time, no price and no named beneficiary, so riders turn up with a toy and ask inside. A dealership approaching seventy years old treating a December toy run as too ordinary to put on a poster is, in its way, the most Connecticut thing about it.
