A small, unpretentious four-day rally on the Mississippi at Fort Madison, hosted by the LaMoine Valley chapter of ABATE — the riders' rights organisation — and held on the grounds at Tena's Tap II. The format is the old-fashioned kind: rally games, a handful of vendor booths, a band each night and a bar that stays open. Entry is modest and camping is cheap, with free tent space for anyone who wants it. That pricing, and the size, are the appeal — this is closer to a large gathering of friends than to a production, and regulars return for exactly that reason. Lee County sits in the far southeast corner of Iowa where the state meets Illinois and Missouri, which is where the rally takes its name from. The river roads on both banks make the approach worth riding rather than driving.
