ABATE of Howard County Motorcycle Rodeo
Saturday, September 12, 2026 · 10 AM · 610 E Payton St, Greentown, IN · Greentown, Indiana
About this event
A proper motorcycle rodeo at a county fairground, run by ABATE of Indiana's Region 3 — the kind of event that has largely disappeared elsewhere. The games run in several rings at once and the names alone are worth the five dollar entry: slow drag, weenie bite, blind find, pony express, barrel roll and an obstacle course. Cash prizes go to the winners, and it costs another five dollars to enter rather than watch. Around the rings there is a beer garden, a vendor marketplace, live music, a bounce house and children's activities, so it works as a family day rather than a purely competitive one. Gates at ten, sign-up at eleven, rodeo from noon. Camping can be arranged through the fairgrounds office if you would rather not ride home. Slow-race skills are more useful here than horsepower, which is a refreshing change and levels the field considerably.
