Money Creek Haven has hosted this rally for half a century, and 2027 is the fiftieth running of it. The BMW Motorcycle Club of Minnesota puts it on, but the club is blunt that all brands are welcome and the turnout backs that up — it is a club rally rather than a marque event, and the people who come have mostly been coming for years.
The setting does a lot of the work. This is the Driftless country of south-east Minnesota, bluffs and river valleys the glaciers never flattened, half an hour from Winona and La Crosse. The club publishes its own route files, including the long-running Hiawatha tour and a dual-sport route for anyone who wants gravel.
It is a camping rally in the old sense: tent and hookup sites, a pool, field events with prizes, a catered Saturday dinner, and a Friday ride out for pie. There is a service on Sunday morning. No vendor midway, no stage — the draw is the roads and the same faces every year.
