Mid-November in Minnesota is not riding season, which is rather the point of this one. Twin Cities Harley-Davidson's north store puts on a chili cook-off in the showroom for two hours in the middle of the day, and the only motorcycles involved are the ones already on the floor with price tags on them.
There is no ride and no route. The dealership calls it simply the Annual Chili Cook-Off and publishes no edition number, no entry fee for a pot, no judging arrangement and no beneficiary, so take it for what it plainly is: a couple of hours of hot food and company at the tail end of the season, in a building with heating.
It sits on Ninety-Eighth Avenue in Blaine, north of the Twin Cities, and the dealership brands this particular store as Harley-Davidson North -- worth knowing if you are looking it up and finding two addresses.
For a good many riders in that part of the state, this is the last thing on the calendar until the salt comes off the roads.
