44th Annual New Sweden Last Chance Rally

Forty-four consecutive years, which for a club rally is a remarkable run. The Last Chance Rally is hosted by the New Sweden BMW Riders at a campground in Egg Harbor City, in southern New Jersey — the name comes from the club, not the town, and catches out anyone searching for it. It is exactly what a club rally should be. GPS-guided routes go out through the weekend, there are GS and Funduro events for the dual-sport riders, field events and door prizes, burgers and hot dogs on the Friday and a barbecue dinner on the Saturday. Riders who would rather sightsee are pointed at the local attractions instead. Registration is through the club and closes on the day the rally starts; camping is on site at the campground. The timing is in the name — it is the last event of the northeastern season, after which the sensible ones start thinking about putting the bike away.
