Worth saying plainly: this is a car show. Of the nine awards, one is Best Motorcycle — the rest are Best Car, Best Truck, Best Interior, Best Paint and so on. Bikes are a named class rather than an afterthought, and the show carries them in its title, but a rider who turns up expecting a bike show will have misread it.
What makes it worth the run is the setting. It sits inside Pioneer Days, the heritage festival Twentynine Palms has been holding for the best part of ninety years in a town built around the Marine Corps base, and it takes over the Historic Plaza at Adobe and Two Mile. Admission is free, there is live music, and the beer garden is run by the local bar.
It began as the city's own event in 2024. A nonprofit, Friends of the Historic Plaza, presents it now.
The real draw is the approach. Twentynine Palms sits at the north gate of Joshua Tree, so however the show turns out, you got there across open Mojave and you ride back the same way.
