2026 Annual Fall Flood Run

About this event
This one started in 1966, when riders went down to the Mississippi to help sandbag after the previous year's flood and then kept going back. It has been run twice a year ever since, and in strong years has drawn something in the region of fifty thousand riders. It is not a rally with a site — it is a route. You collect a stamped sheet and ride the Mississippi valley around Lake Pepin, crossing the river at Prescott, Red Wing, Wabasha and Winona, getting a stamp from a business in each section to qualify for the prize draw. Riders start from the Harbor Bar at Hager City or from any sponsor stop along the way, and everyone converges back at the Harbor Bar for the drawing. A ten-dollar wristband is the entry, and the money goes to Gillette Children's Hospital. The road along the bluffs is the real draw — it is regularly named one of the best river runs in the country.
