15th Annual 9/11 Patriot Day Ride
Saturday, September 12, 2026 · 10 AM · Darlington, Maryland
About this event
Billed as Maryland's largest 9/11 remembrance, and organised with real care. Riders gather at the Darlington fire company in Harford County for registration, the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem, then six moments of silence — one for each of the four aircraft and one for each tower as it fell. The names of the Marylanders killed that day are read aloud, and Maryland Gold Star Mothers serve as honorary ride captains. What follows is a twenty-nine mile ride to Parkville, fully escorted by police and supported by fire crews along the way, running down Harford Road and Putty Hill Avenue to finish at the Tall Cedars lot. Twenty dollars for a rider, ten for a passenger. It benefits America's 9/11 Living Classroom, whose purpose is to keep the day teachable for people too young to remember it. Registration opens early; expect road closures along the route through the late morning.
