Wild Card Adventure Bike Rally at ZAKAR
October 16–18, 2026 · ZAKAR, Pesch Blvd · Mojave, California
About this event
ZAKAR stands for Zombie Apocalypse Kompound At RawHyde, and it is exactly what that sounds like: a hundred acres of the western Mojave built out as a post-apocalyptic fortress, with its own freeway off-ramp, a professionally cut terrain park, bunks for thirty-odd and a commercial kitchen. Jim Hyde started RawHyde in 2002 with a single eight-day run from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, most of it unpaved. He bought this ground in 2017 and spent two years building it before letting anyone in.
The riding is sandy wash, desert two-track and rock, with routes out through Jawbone Canyon into an off-road network that runs three hundred miles toward Nevada. There are loops sized for a big adventure bike and harder ground for anyone who wants it.
Four hundred and ninety-five to enter. Training clinics on top if you want them, beds or a tent if you do not.
Saturday night is a casino — poker, craps and blackjack, chips only, no real money — with a band, aerial performers over the desert, and a talk from Backcountry Discovery Routes.
Any brand, any machine: adventure bikes, dirt bikes, UTVs, four-wheel drives.
