Worth knowing before you plan a weekend around it: this is one of six dealerships running the same trike weekend on the same days, and the original is a long way east. Triketoberfest belongs to Teddy Morse's Daytona Harley-Davidson, where it has run for years as a three-day fixture ahead of Biketoberfest. The group now puts it on across all six of its stores under the line one event, six locations, and Grand Junction is one of them.
The dealership has published a Friday evening start and very little else — no local programme, no founder, no named organiser for the Colorado end. What the brand does elsewhere is trike shows, demo trucks, a dyno, live music, vendors and group rides, so expect a version of that on the Crossroads Boulevard forecourt rather than a campground rally.
Where it earns its place is the geography. Grand Junction sits between the Colorado National Monument and the Grand Mesa, which puts Rim Rock Drive and Lands End Road a short run from the car park. For a trike or Freewheeler rider who wants demos and somewhere worth riding afterwards, that combination is the argument.
