Rock N Roll City Harley-Davidson Annual Turkey Run

About this event

The beneficiary is four miles away. Rock N Roll City Harley-Davidson runs its Turkey Run for Laura's Home, the City Mission's crisis centre for women and children on Puritas Avenue, close enough to the West 150th Street store that riders pass the top of the road on the way in. That proximity is the character of the thing: not a ride with a distant national charity attached, but a west-side Cleveland dealership collecting for a west-side Cleveland shelter in the weeks before the holidays. It is also, despite the name, neither a poker run nor a toy run. The dealership describes it plainly as a charity ride with a collection, ten in the morning until five, and puts no edition number on it — it has simply been happening. Registration cost was not published. It sits in a busy autumn at this store, between a ride for the ribbon in October, a salute to service in early November and a Christmas event in December, which is worth knowing if you are planning more than one trip out there.
