Lynx M.C. has been running since 1956 and describes itself, in its own words, as the second oldest motorcycle club in Maryland. It has been AMA sanctioned since 1966 and has not stopped operating in seventy years. Who founded it, and why, the club has never put online.
That reticence is the character of the place. This is a club that keeps its own grounds and still runs the kind of event the AMA charter was written for — a road run with a card draw at each stop, ten dollars a hand on its other runs, check-in in the morning and everyone back by late afternoon. Previous Lynx runs have started from the Dew Drop Inn at Kingsville.
The Turkey Run's own details — the time, the price, where the money goes — are not published anywhere. What is reliable is the country. This is upper Harford County at the head of the Chesapeake, flat tidewater land off the Pulaski Highway, with the Gunpowder Falls crossings and the Jarrettsville and Norrisville back roads a short run north and worth the detour on the way home.
