CVMA TN 18-15 Bike Show and Bible Study

About this event
The organisation behind this one exists because the first version of it was a con. In the late 1990s combat veterans looking for a brotherhood on two wheels joined an online club run by a man calling himself Iceman; when it was exposed as a scam in 2001, the members who were left — remembered since as the Original 45 — rebuilt it themselves and formally established the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association in December 2002. Earl "Doc" Reichart holds number two. They chose the word association over club deliberately, so that nobody would have to prospect and acceptance would come more easily to men who had already proved enough. Chapter 18-15, based up the road in Portland, hosts this one at the Elks Lodge on Airport Road in Gallatin and pairs the bike show with a Bible study, which tells you plainly what sort of afternoon it is. Full membership still requires verified combat service, with support classes for other veterans and for spouses. Chapters pick their own local causes; what this one funds is not published, so ask at the door.
