CBA Swap Meet Bike Show
November 14–15, 2026 · Rowan County Fairgrounds, 1560 Julian Road, Salisbury, NC 28146 · Salisbury, North Carolina
About this event
Most swap meets exist to move parts. This one's gate money goes to a lobbying fund.
The Concerned Bikers Association started in Charlotte in the spring of 1970, when a handful of riders — Slim Baucom, Dale Luckey, the McLeod brothers, Bob Monaco, Rick Nail and Bob Trimnal — began meeting in city parks to organise against helmet laws, handlebar-height limits and muffler rules they read as an attempt to make riding unattractive rather than safer. Claude "Boda" Chavis wrote the constitution, borrowing its structure from a military fraternity document he remembered from college. The group later merged with ABATE, and the Charlotte Mother Chapter has run a show of some kind every year since 1974. It is a 501(c)(4), so the takings go to legislative work, safety and rider training.
The meet fills an indoor building, a covered barn and an outdoor midway at the Rowan County Fairgrounds in Salisbury, half a mile off I-85 at Exit 74. Hundreds of vendors, rain or shine. The first twenty bikes entered in the show get a free CBA shirt, which is why people queue at the gate.
