The Antique Motorcycle Club of America's national meet at the Fulton County Fairgrounds is, first and foremost, a swap meet — over eight hundred vending spaces of antique machines, parts and literature, open from early Thursday morning through Sunday midday. For anyone restoring an old bike this is one of the few places in the country where the part you have been hunting for years might simply be lying on a table. The AMCA's definition of antique is machines thirty-five years old and up, which these days covers a great deal more ground than it once did, and the stock on offer reflects that breadth. It is a working event rather than a spectacle: people come with lists, measurements and cash, and trailers leave fuller than they arrived. Fulton County is flat northwest Ohio farmland — easy riding in, and easy parking, which matters when you are carrying a gearbox back to the van.
