2026 Northeast Motorcycle Skills, Training, & Challenge
September 10–12, 2026 · 7 AM · 435 Middlesex Road, Tyngsborough, MA 01879 · Tyngsborough, Massachusetts
About this event
Not a rally — a competition, and a demanding one. Riders run timed low-speed cone patterns of the kind police motor units train on, scored across three divisions: law enforcement motor medics, civilian expert and civilian novice. Two formats run over the weekend. The Challenge Ride is a single scored attempt at the pattern; the Slow Ride is scored on how long you can take, which is far harder than it sounds and separates riders quickly. The novice division is the point for most people — this is the single best way to find out how well you actually control a heavy motorcycle below ten miles an hour, and the improvement over a weekend tends to be dramatic. Entry is capped at sixty riders and sells out. Registration is online only and non-refundable, and there is a gear requirement: DOT helmet, long trousers and boots with ankle support. Proceeds go to Lowell General Hospital for cancer care.
