A two-day dual sport run through the Finger Lakes country of western New York, put on by a club that has been doing it long enough for it to have become a round of the national dual sport series. The format is roughly a hundred miles a day over dirt roads, gravel, pavement, two-track and some single track, which puts it above beginner level — the organisers say as much — and entries are capped at three hundred so the route does not turn into a queue. Entry covers breakfast, a meal ticket, camping and parking, and a two-day entry comes with a shirt. There is a band on the Saturday night and fireworks, which is more than most dual sport weekends bother with. National association membership is required to ride. Newark sits on the Erie Canal, and the county around it is the farmland-and-woodlot country these routes are made of.
