14th Annual Remember Respect and Honor Bike Run

Sunday, November 8, 2026 · 8 AM · Buckhorn Bar & Grill, 830 North Adams · Dixon, California

About this event

A run with a title like this usually remembers one person. This one remembers about twenty-eight thousand. Curtis and Susie Stocking of Winters run the Wreath Project, which buys an evergreen bough for every veteran buried at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on the edge of Dixon, and this is how the boughs get paid for. Their stated target is thirty-five thousand — enough to cover every grave in the cemetery, with none left bare.

It sets off early on a Sunday morning from the Buckhorn Bar and Grill on North Adams in the middle of Dixon, which hosts it alongside the Segovia, Meloy and Garton families. The country between Dixon, Winters and Vacaville is flat Sacramento Valley farmland, straight and undemanding, and there are raffle prizes at the end. It suits casual riders, clubs, and anyone after a short social run rather than a road.

What the morning buys is a field of headstones in December with a green bough laid at each one, set out by hand, grave by grave.
